Cbank to mull further key rate increase based on external risks
MOSCOW, Nov 8 (PRIME) -- Russia’s central bank will consider further raising the key rate taking into account external risks, Chairwoman Elvira Nabiullina said a meeting of the State Duma on Thursday.
“In the current circumstances of increased uncertainty, the central bank will consider feasibility of further raising the key rate, assessing the dynamics of the economy, inflation relative to the forecast, as well as the risks of the countries and external conditions and reaction of financial markets to them,” she said.
“We are living in conditions of a serious external pressure,” and the central bank’s task is not to allow this pressure to curb the country’s economic growth, she added.
